Blind embossed green cloth with gilt titles, gilt red, and black cover pictorial. Front endpapers and frontis lacking, all text and plates present, paper over inner hunges split, several pages and 2 plates have short edge tears, scattered foxing (mostly on endpages), plates good to very good. Fair.

Very slighlty shaken towards hinges, alongside lightly superficially marking at rear board. Very mild foxing on preliminaries. A collection of 26 alphabetical-themed short poems relating to military personnel, each one accompanied by a humorous full-page, full colour lithograph. A bright, handsome copy in very good to near-fine condition.

Decorative Cloth. Zustand: Collectible; Very Good. A solid, well-preserved copy of the 1876 stated 2nd edition of this charming children's alphabet book. "With Alphabetical Descriptions and Illustrations from Designs by the Author--Printed in Colours by Kronheim". Tight and VG in its navy-blue cloth, with lightly-faded (but still strong) gilt-lettering and design at the front panel and spine. Minor bumping at the tips and light wear at the spine ends. Very light wear as well to the inner hinges but the binding is still strong and sturdy. Quarto, 25 (as called for) beautiful chromolithographed plates, all of which are clean and bright.
