The anonymous book (pamphlet) gives arguments from history and use that the Prince of Wales (later George IV) held the titles of Duke of Rothesay, Earl of Carrick, etc., in the Peerage of Scotland. It also deals with charges that these had lapsed. With the armorial bookplate of Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester (1900-1974) the third son of King George V and Queen Mary. He served as Governor-General of Australia from 1945 to 1947. On the front endpaper is written "To HRH the Prince of Scotland with humble duty of The Keeper of the Seal of The Principlaity of Scotland Dunedin November 27, 1922." Dunedin = Andrew Graham Murray, 1st Viscount Dunedin, GCVO, PC (1849 Ð 21942) Scottish politician and judge and one time Secretary of Scotland. The title of Prince of Scotland is given to the heir to the British throne, in 1922 this was the future Edward VIII eldest son of George V. Very good indeed.Spine slightly rubbed, endpapers very slightly ink marked.
