Revised Final Draft script for the 1944 film, "Bermuda Mystery," here under the working title, "Murder in Bermuda." A comedic mystery based on a story by John Larkin. Constance Martin (Rutherford) is convinced that her uncle's death in Bermuda was a murder. The authorities in Bermuda declare he died of natural causes, so Connie…travels to New York to inform her uncles WWI buddies, who have all cashed in their collective "death pool." In New York, Connie hires Steve Carramond (Foster) to help her investigate the death, despite the fact he's set to get married the next day. Set briefly in Bermuda, mostly in New York. Blue titled wrappers, noted as FINAL on the front wrapper, rubber-stamped copy No. 8 and production No. 997, dated Dec. 16, 1943. Distribution page present, with receipt intact. From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early…1930s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s. John Wayne stars as the manager of a trucking company who pits his trucking fleet in a contest against a train to deliver aviation parts to the Pacific coast before a labor strike takes place. Shot on location in Santa Clarita and Newhall, California. 10 x 8 inches. Near Fine.
