Reliure. Magnifique fac-similé du manuscrit de La Grande Chronique bourguignonne de Schilling Le Vieux (de Berne), conservé à la Bibliothèque Centrale de Zürich (Nr. A 5), qui, réalisé vers 1480 est le 3ème et dernier tome de l'Histoire Officielle de la ville de Berne et représente la plus importante source d'informations sur les guerres de Bourgogne. Les miniatures, particulièrement belles et intéressantes, décrivent des scènes très détaillées de sièges, de combats et de la vie de camp. La reliure plein-cuir (25 * 39 cm.) cousue main correspond exactement à l'original, avec ses empressages à froid et ses deux fermoirs en métal, les cahiers ont été coupés puis cousus ensemble à la main, tout comme pour l'original. Le tirage de cette édition a été limité à 980 exemplaires, celui-ci portant le numéro 529. On retrouve l'habituel volume de commentaire, co-écrit par plusieurs spécialistes ; le texte est en allemand et fait 306 pages, il est relié en demi-cuir et toile d'éditeur. Très bel exemplaire. It shall give an overview about all important techniques and their implementation into the actual energy market. Wind turbines, hydropower, photovoltaics, biomass energy, geothermal energy and tidal power will particularly be explained. Furthermore, two new modern sources of renewable energy - the DESERTEC project and the solar updraft tower - are introduced. Advantages as well as disadvantages are revealed for all the mentioned methods of energy generation.First of all, the current climate and energy situation is shown. That also includes some of the problems the current world population is facing. Following that a definition of what renewable energies exactly are is given. This is combined with a differentiation what non-renewable energies are respectively what the traditional forms of energy generation are. Some basics of energy units and their calculation follow. Also the development together with its' legitimate support over the last years is illustrated.Because of the fact, that a lot of renewable energies can be also used to generate warmth, the main focus of the different methods is on generating electricity. Here is a short overview which types of power plants are discussed: the part of wind turbines contains onshore as well as offshore plants. In the chapter hydropower the three main forms river power plants, storage power stations and pumped- storage plants are explained. The chapter of photovoltaics contains the most used solar modules, which are made of silicium. Biomass is more important for the warmth generation, thus only biogas is explained in detail. Deep and near-surface geothermal energy are part of the underground energy source generation. Tidal power implies also sea-flow power plants. Influences on the environment are considered and critically analyzed for all methods.In the end there is a comparison of all those technologies. Then I would like to point out which forms of energy generation will be most valuable in the future. Also the question how to make renewable energies more attractive shall be answered, because the consumers need to accept these new energies and in the end, they will be the ones to pay for them.
