Simple paper-over-boards format, tips rubbed, blue rear panel half-toned, black lettering to front cover and with blue and yellow ruling there. Features plentiful two-color illustrations. William Lawrence Saunders (November 1, 1856 - June 25, 1931) was a mining engineer by vocation, served in the Navy as the Chairman of the Naval Consulting Board during World War I and has a colorful biography, according to his Wikipedia entry. Born in Columbus, Georgia, raised in Apalachicola, Florida. He was a lifelong suffragist and donated much of his will to William & Mary College (Wikipedia). Scarce in the trade.
