In den WarenkorbPaperback. Zustand: Good. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: No DJ. Good condition paperback pictorial laminated cover, no DJ. 262 pages good and clean with clear print, indexed. Several black and white photographs. No foxing, no previous names. David Watson made a commitment to Christ as a Cambridge student and never looked back. A man who quickly made friends and earned respect, he was nonetheless a private individual with a tendency to low self-esteen and depression. This biography talks frankly of his personal struggles while charting his extraordinary achievements as a minister of God; it is a compelling, sensitive and challenging portrait.

Pen name Christopher Murray Grieve (11 August 1892 9 September 1978). A Scottish poet, journalist, essayist and political figure. He is best known for his works written in 'synthetic Scots', a literary version of the Scots language that MacDiarmid himself developed. However, Grieve's earliest work -- such as Annals of the Five Senses was written in English, and from the early 1930s onwards much of the poetry published under MacDiarmid's name was written in an English that was supplemented to varying degrees by scientific and technical vocabularies. ; Small 8vo 7½" - 8" tall; 107 pages;

Having submitted poems to Christopher Grieve's new anthology, Northern Numbers, the two poets became lifelong friends, as well working together for Scottish PEN; Cruickshank began as Honorary Secretary, but later took over the helm from Grieve. Indeed, Cruickshank's Edinburgh home, Dinnieduff, became a centre of Scottish literary activity and society during this period, which Cruickshank later referred to as a watershed time in her life. She was also a founding member of the Saltire Society.
