From the preface This book comprises of eight chapters. The first chapter is an introductory part and describes the importance of wood preservation in the present scenario development in India and position of treatment facilities in the country. Second chapter gives an idea about the various degrading agencies e.g. fungi insects marine borers etc. That threaten wood during its useful life causing colossal losses. The third chapter describes the various chemical formulations conventional as well as prospective for use under Indian conditions.
