He was British Foreign Secretary from 1812 and was central to the management of the coalition that defeated Napoleon.Occasional annotations in the author's hand to the margins. Particularly to the bottom of page 21 there is a large note from the author which starts 'further consideration together with the opinion.' The author's grammatical corrections to other pages, for example page 55. In a recent quarter cloth binding, with paper covered boards. Externally, fine. Presentation inscription to the head of title page from the author to Lord Viscount Castlereagh. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright.
