Hardcover. Zustand: Fine. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: fine. A fine, fresh, unused as-new copy in equally fine dust jacket. Hardcover. Illustrated endpapers.462 pp. Illustrated. Issued in celebration of the school's 175 anniversary, this is the first history of the Lawrenceville School since Mumford's 1935 book. The school was founded in 1810 by Isaac Van Arsdale Brown, a Presbyterian minister. It operated under a number of slightly differing names until the present name was formalized in 1883. The school's profile was elevated at that time and it became Princeton University's largest feeder school (it is located five miles south of Princeton's main campus, hence the title of the book). Today the Lawrenceville School operated as a private, coeducational preparatory school, one of the top such institutions in the United States.
