W 1997 ulegl wypadkowi samochodowemu, w wyniku ktorego stracil wzrok, od tego czasu tworzyl korzystajac z pomocy innych osob. W 2003 otrzymal Nagrode im. Katarzyny Kobro, a w 2006 Nagrode im. Jana Cybisa.
