Ein gutes und sauberes Exemplar. - In der polnischen Diözese Wloclawek/ Leslau entstanden zwischen 1707-1733 die Manuskripte des katholischen Geistlichen Franziskus Valentin Ruthen. Sie sind ein typisches Zeugnis der polnischen katholischen Kantionalliteratur. Die Besonderheit der Kantionale des F. V. Ruthen liegt in ihrer Dreisprachigkeit. Texte in polnischer, deutscher und lateinischer Sprache sind dort nebeneinander aufgeführt. Zahlreiche Übersetzungen sind dem jeweiligen Original gegenübergestellt. Im Vordergrund steht der Textnachweis nach zeitgenössischen gedruckten und handschriftlichen Gesangbüchern. Ein Incipitarium, das die möglichen Quellennachweise einschließt, gibt Auskunft über den außerordentlich reichen Textbestand (insgesamt 1.467 Beispiele aller Gattungen).
