A humorous follow-up collection of imaginative animal poems.Edward Ardizzone (19001979) was a British illustrator, author, and war artist known for his distinctive line-and-wash illustrations. He illustrated over 170 books, including many beloved children's titles, and was awarded the Kate Greenaway Medal in 1956. In the publisher's original cloth bindings. Externally, generally smart. Front free endpaper of "More Prefabulous" has been removed. Library stamp and inscription to copyright page has been partially rubbed out, resulting in slight lifting to paper, though not removed entirely. Previous owner"s inscription to front free endpaper with slight offsetting of "Pigeons". Glue marks to boards of "The Blackbird", with offsetting to dust wrapper flaps and endpapers. Dust wrappers, generally very smart. Dust wrapper of" Pigeons" and "Mimff-Robinson" clipped. Slight lifting to front flap of dust wrapper, tape reinforcement to inside front joint of wrap. Sligh rubbing and bumping to extremities, resulting in the odd very minor chip and closed tear to extremities. Slight age toning to wraps of older copies. Offsetting to edges of flaps to "A Ring of Bells". Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with one or two spots, heavier to fore edges.
