Inscribed by Guillén on the half-title page to Puerto Rican editor, translator, and literary critic Roberto Márquez and his wife: "Para Roberto y Maddie - con muchísimo cariño / Nicolas / En La Habana." Spine ends gently nudged, a few minor wrinkles to cloth at crown, else a clean, very Near Fine copy. Dustjacket shows modest wear and light rubbing, a touch of dustiness to white portions of the illustrations, else Near Fine. Late collection of lyrical poems by the native Cuban poet and activist. A nice inscription to Márquez, who has written extensively on Guillén, and has translated several of the poet's works faithfully from Spanish into English. 87848. Signed.
