From an obituary posted on-line: ROSE S. BELL, Librarian, Author and Humanitarian, March 21, 1921 - November 3, 2013 Mrs. Bell was born in Mine Creek, Hempstead, AK. She was a 1944 graduate of Philander Smith College where she joined Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She became a librarian, working for the Gary Public Library and later, the Kansas City Public Library. Mrs. Bell authored five books: Beyond the Strawberry Patch, Modern Marriage - How They Keep It Together, You Can Be Happy, Plum Creek Valley, and The Adventures of Rosebud. This work is based on two principal sources--personal interviews from cooperative young married couples and empirical thought emanating from the author. This book hopes to encourage, illuminate and inspire those who are anticipating, contemplating, or are already seeking to find means of enriching their own marriages. First Edition [stated]. Presumed first printing.
