Quoting from the Introduction: "The paintings and poems reproduced here are those ofa handscroll acquired by The Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1973 from the collection of Chi-ch'ien Wang as a Gift of the Dillon Fund. The height of the scroll is 11 3/8 inches; ther lenght of the longest scene, the fourteenth, is 32 inches. A description of the scroll and its colophons and collectors' seals has already been published. Some of the seals are reproduced on the cover of the present book." This mustard colored hard cover book is contained in a cardboard slipcase, now a bit battered but still doing its job. Condition: This book is in very good condition. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the slipcase, which is dust-dulled and dirty and split along the bottom edge. The hard covers of the book, mustard-colored, are generally clean and unbumped but show some faint signs of mildew scars in the cloth of the covers front and back. The spine of the book is a bit bumped with some slight loss of the title lettering. Inside, the book is unmarked and the pages and plates are clean and bright throughout, without toning or foxing.
