The first edition thus, being the first edition of this translation. A limited edition work, with two-hundred and seventy-five small paper copies, and seventy-five large paper copies printed. This copy is one of the small paper editions. With the original glassine wrap. This work is addressed to the women and maidens of France, and discussed their costumes and dress in relation to morality and religion. The work was originally printed in Paris in 1585. Originally written in French by Antoine Estienne, a Franciscan Friar. Translated into English by William Rooke. In the original publisher's paper wraps with the original glassine wrap. Externally, smart. A few spots to the wraps. Some light marks and discolouration to the wrap. Small amount of loss to the head and tail of the spine of the wrap. Internally, firmly bound.
