Completed around the year 1902, Baron Corvo's first novel was roundly rejected for publication by every major publisher until an edition of 2000 copies was nearly printed in 1909. With both printer and author facing imminent bankruptcy the project collapsed and the book remained unpublished until this edition was mooted in the 1960s.

In den WarenkorbZustand des Schutzumschlags: dj. First Edition. [Historical fiction] FIRST EDITION. Octavo (23 x 15cm), pp.[4] 453 [3]. Publisher's red cloth, gilt title panel to spine. With the typographic dust-jacket priced at 12s 6d to front flap. Top edge red. Internally clean, some light offsetting to endpapers. Gentle spotting/marking to jacket, toning to spine. Very good. An alternative history novel where Arthur II becomes king of England instead of John. Controversial for its outwardly anti-Semitic content.
