In the last chapter, Robson notes that it is "both necessary and profitable for us to look to the older countries for our development in the craft and theories of art" (p. 212) but wants Canadian artists to avoid "warmed over presentations of another country's culture" (p. 214). Many Canadians will recognize their country's scenic appearance and traditional ways of life in these paintings.…
