With a preface by Thomas Hull, and an account of 'Mr. Knill's Last Days', by Robert Parminter Knill's widow. A very scarce copy, with only three copies held in Legal Deposit Libraries (Copac.) With contemporary prior owner's ink inscription to the front free-endpaper: 'Frederick Davey With best wishes from his Aunt December 1895'. This copy is undated, dated using Copac. Featuring a portrait frontispiece of Knill, with a facsimile of his signature. In the original cloth binding with blind stamped borders and gilt title to the front board. Externally, slightly bumped and rubbed to extremities and head and tail of spine. Slight marking to rear board. Offsetting to endpapers. Prior owner's ink inscription to front free-endpaper, dated '1895'. Internally generally firmly bound, strained in places. Pages slightly age toned to edges, but bright and clean throughout. Prior owner's small ink mark to text page 20, visible to page 19. Handling mark to upper fore edge of page 35. Very Good Indeed. book.
