Hardcover. Zustand: Good. The cover has green cloth with goldtone lettering and rule lines. The sub-title is A Detective Story; the detective's name is Macumber. About a third of the cover's top edge is frayed, perhaps from insect damage. The spine strip's bottom edge and the boards' bottom, front corners are a little frayed from shelf wear. The spine strip has ten faded spots, up to a linear 1/2 in. The front margins of 16 pages each have a stain, up to a linear 1 in. A linear, 2 in., intermittent, light stain is on some text. Original blue cloth with titles stamped in gilt on cover and spine. Square, tight and clean throughout with just a touch of bumping to the spine ends but quite minor. Front endpaper has a small area with an old damp-stain. Quite scarce dust-wrapper has a lightly toned spine and soiling to rear panels and folds. Fairly mild edge-wear and rubbing. Still, a solid, complete example and quite uncommon in any condition. A remarkably well-preserved collectable copy.
