His magnificent legacy as a theologian and exegete were obscured by the charge of Nestorianism pronounced in the anathema of the second Council of Constantinople. One of the most important among the multiple 20th century Mopsuestia mss discoveries was his commentary on the Psalms, presented here in the original Greek. His Psalms commentary is a stunning display of the critical acumen which made him the foremost Biblical interpreter of the Syrian church.
