Am Beispiel der ehemaligen griechischen Kolonien Histria und Tomis (Constanta) und der kaiserzeitlichen Stadtgründung Tropaeum Traiani (Adamclisi) wird eine Rekonstruktion der Veränderungen der urbanistischen Strukturen vor dem Hintergrund des Aufstiegs des Christentums zu einer zentralen Instanz von Staat und Gesellschaft in der Spätantike untersucht.
