In den WarenkorbHardcover. Zustand: Very Good. Gerta Ries (illustrator). This lavish childrens book was possibly inspired by Dreamland, Coney Island which flourished as a pleasure park between 1903 and 1911. Not to be confused with Dreamland Margate which while predating it from 1860 was not branded Dreamland until 1920. The book is illustrated by Gerta Ries (1898-1948) and from the style dates from the 1920s. Thee are seven delightful pictures each making a double page spread on what appears to be heavy card. This in fact is two thinner sheets laminated together allowing the top sheet to have slots into which can be placed cut out cardboard dollies allowing the children to make their own story line. There are 42 dollies kept in a separate envelope of which there maybe a few ahort. The V&A copy has 49. Book size 340x280mm landscape.
