A very scarce 1835 Whitchurch broadside arising from a bankruptcy dispute, publicly defending a family"s reputation with an itemised account of more than £5,800 in contested debts. A vanishingly scarce work. A piece of provincial bankruptcy ephemera, printed at Whitchurch, Shropshire, by R. B. Jones and dated 26 January 1835. Issued as a public broadside by John Luther Richards and William Richards, it responds to a statement published three days earlier by Messrs. Brookes and Lee concerning the bankruptcy of Trevor & Richards. This financial dispute was being conducted publicly through both the newspaper press and separately printed broadsides such as this. A single unbound sheet, printed on one side. Leaf bright, with significant handling marks to rear. Minor handling marks to tail of front. Folds to sheet, and minor chip to head. Very Good. None (illustrator). book.…
