Paris, Buisson, 1786. In-8 de (2), X, 217 et (2) pages, basane marbrée de l'époque, dos à nerfs orné, pièce de titre de maroquin bordeaux (accident à la coiffe supérieure). Première édition, rare sur le marché, dédiée à Calonne de cette chimie quantitative et qualitative des minéraux appliquée à l'art de l'orfévrerie, en particulier l'or et l'argent. Pierre de Ribaucourt (1739-1806) état maître apothicaire à Abbeville. "[Son père], Pierre-Philippe, étudia à Paris, se fit orfèvre à Abbeville et épousa le 19 septembre 1732 François Barrangue, dont il eu sept enfants. L 'aîné, Pierre, naquit le 28 janvier 1739, fit des études au Collège d'Abbeville, et entra comma compagnon apothicaire chez Me François Cozette, qui tenait officine à Paris près la Porte Saint-Jacques. Il travailla ensuite dans le laboratoire de Baumé, dont il suivit les cours et fut également disciple de Rouelle. Reçu maitre à Abbeville le 29 mai 1762, il y ouvrit outique rue du Puits à la chaîne, à l'enseigne de l'Aigle d'or, professa la chimie dans son laboratoire, et occupa bientôt une haute situation dans la ville. Il fut maïeur de bannière en 1774, juge-consul en 1778-90. Mais un beau jour il abandonna tout et se rendît à Paris oui il aurait donné sa collaboration à une raffinerie de salpêtre. Il quitta la capitale pendant la Terreur, fut peut-être directeur des mines d'alun de Saint-Georges de Lavencas, dans les Causses, et, d'après Prarond, mourut aux environs de Millau le 17 septembre 1803. Un mémoire sur l'indigo lui valut en 1777 une part d'un prix décerné par l'Académie des Sciences ; un autre sur les terres vitrifiables fut primé en 1783 par l'Académie de Rouen. Il a écrit Eléments de chimie docimasique, dédiés à Calolnne, publié à Paris en 1786 et où il se souvient de sa jeunesse d'orfêvre ; et deux mémoires sur la tourbe (1787 et 1795). Il habitait à cette dernière date Saint-Affrique, et fut proposé en l'an IV pour le titre de correspondant non résidant de la 1et classe (Sciences) de l'Institut, section de chimie ; mais il ne fut pas élu."
