Beloe (1756-1817) was an English divine and author of numerous translations and Anecdotes of Literature and Scarce Books (1806-1812), and keeper of printed books at the British Library, 1803-1806; volume two contains descriptions of bookshops and booksellers of his time (pp. 240-282).
