"This edition is enriched by a memoir of the Author, and an Itinerary and Guide to the Giant's Causeway". The Itinerary which runs from page 221 to page 265 has a separate title page also dated 1822. Scarce in the original boards.

With orange floral endpapers and pastedowns. Illustrated with a frontispiece and five black and white plates by W.L. Sheppard. A Reverend's recollection of his travels and missionary work across North America. Pierson was interested in observing the culture of different regions in the United States. Reverend Pierson primarily describes the southwest here, but also discusses Georgia before the Civil War, including a description of nineteenth-century Black-American funeral customs (one of the plates depcits a Black-American funeral), and a description of Haiti. A Very Good or better book with minor rubbing to the front board and a contemporary name on the first blank leaf.
