Edges of text block gilt. Very light foxing on preliminaries. Front fly leaves bear an ink inscription in the most elegant and precise of penmanship, dated 1852, pertaining to the presentation of the book to its original owner, a Mr. 'H. Templeton' by the Committee of the Juvenile Abstinence Union of Scotland before his departure for Australia. A beautiful, near-fine copy.
