Softcover. Zustand: Very Good. Screenplay. Quarto. 77 pages, one page laid in. Bradbound in orange Studio Duplicating Service wrapper. A couple of ink changes in the text, wrappers a little soiled, a very good copy. Laid in is one page photocopied from the screenplay with an ink change, and a note to call a New York literary age…nt on the verso. A "neo-noir" treatment of the Woolrich story, the film was eventually made in 1980 as *Union City*, directed by Reichert (a.k.a. Marcus Reichert), as a vehicle for singer Debbie Harry, of the rock group *Blondie*. An interesting film that didn't achieve the desired effect of catapulting Harry to film stardom, though she continues to appear in films from time to time.

Vintage reference photograph from the 1980 neo-noir film, showing Debbie Harry and Everett McGill. Based on 1937 Cornell Woolrich story "Union City: The Corpse Next Door," about a married accountant who kills a vagrant in an obsessive fury. An early screen appearance by Harry, preceding her better-known roles in "Videodrome" (19…83) and "Hairspray" (1988). All photos 8 x 10 inches. About Near Fine.
