This volume is the record of his major work, in Seven Treatises, on phenomena most related to his controversial 'discovery' of the Odic Force, to which he devoted his attention for the last 20 years of his life. RARE. You do not want to try to read it online! Reichenbach, 1788 ? 1869) was a notable chemist, geologist, metallurgist, naturalist, industrialist, and philosopher, whose researches led to his discovery of a mysterious light phenomenon, that he described as "Od", the "Odic Force". He posited it as a vital force surrounding and emanating from all things. His writings were influential in the later developments of mesmerism, animal magnetism, and spiritualism during the second half of the 19th century. The concept continues to influence esoteric thought and healing. This copy belonged to Margaret Geiger, a theosophist, lay homeopath and healer. Her pencil notes are in the rear. Her name and address in Babylon, NY are penciled on the inside front board, with her stamp of the "Invisible College" and the remnants of a sign out label. Signed.

(Caillet, 9244).
