Unbound. Zustand: Good. Two pages, printed single sides only. Stapled at the upper left corner. Presumed mimeographed from originals. A piece consisting of a letter soliciting for funds, volunteers and ideas for a Strike week and single page statement/manifesto outlining the group's beliefs and recommended course of action. The letter writer, Donn Reed, mentions his recent parole from prison (serving time as a conscientious objector) and his work with the New York Committee for the General Strike for Peace (Reed mentions his jail time in his biography on the Brook Farm Books website, where his contributions to homeschooling are also mentioned). Solicitations for funds and labor are given in the letter. The second page refers to the threat of nuclear war, the Cold War and other 'wars' and calls for a general strike against governments that conduct nuclear tests, intend to use nuclear weapons, etc. A request to stop work on November 5th and 11th is made, as well as requests to not vote for those who support the Cold War and to boycott US industries that contribute to the Cold War. GOOD+ condition. Red date stamp and pink pencil note (where to file, perhaps indicating ex-library) at the upper corners of the cover letter. Two horizontal fold creases present. Minor toning and wrinkling.
