Folio (210 x 300 mm). 2 ff. German printed material on off-white paper. Offset printing in black, with headline text in pink on the wanted flyer and photographic reproductions in halftone throughout. Issued unbound. Two West German police circulars issued during the 1977 "German Autumn", when the Red Army Faction (RAF) abducted the employers' leader Hanns Martin Schleyer in Cologne and murdered his driver and three accompanying police officers. The wanted flyer, headed "Entführung und vierfacher Mord in Köln", combines portrait photographs with unusually granular physical descriptions of the principal suspects, Friederike Krabbe and Willy Peter Stoll, and reconstructs the ambush. On the verso it extends the appeal into a technical brief for the public, documenting the vehicles used in the attack, including a Volkswagen bus and a Mercedes 300 D, with photographs, registration details, and reconstruction notes. - The second sheet, issued by the Bundeskriminalamt in Wiesbaden for posting and hand-to-hand distribution, translates counter-terror investigation into everyday observation, listing indicators of clandestine accommodation and "safe houses" and repeatedly warning civilians not to intervene directly. Its photographic illustrations of ordinary objects left at the scene, from a pram and gloves to bags and sporting items, underline how the manhunt relied on the circulation of images as much as on names, turning commonplace things into potential evidence at a moment of acute national crisis. - Light handling wear and mild paper toning, otherwise in good condition.

Very good. Light wear along original fold lines. Size 8 x 9.25 Inches. This is an August 1943 World War II era U.S. Army Engineers map of American Red Cross clubs in central London. Published for American servicemen stationed in England during World War II (1939 - 1945), this map and others like it acted as a helpful aid to visiting GIs, many of whom had never before been outside the U.S. A Closer Look Bright red boxes highlight 15 American Red Cross clubs across central London. Among the labeled clubs is Rainbow Corner near Piccadilly Circus. Rainbow Corner was the most famous American Red Cross Club in the European Theater of Operations. It was open 24 hours a day, every day, to American servicemen from November 11, 1942, until January 9, 1946. Its largest single-day attendance was over 70,000 for the club's First Birthday party on December 5, 1943. Two African-American Red Cross clubs are identified here: Liberty near Euston Station and Duchess north of Oxford Circus. Although African-American soldiers could not enjoy white-only Red Cross Clubs, white soldiers were welcome at the African American Clubs and frequently visited, only civilians were barred. Publication History and Census This map was compiled by the Mapping Section, Intelligence Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and printed by the 952nd Aviation Engineer Topographic Company in August 1943. This is the only known cataloged example.
