In den WarenkorbSoft cover. Zustand: Good (+). No Jacket. 1st ed. portrait photo tipped in verso t.p.+(4, Dedication and Preface)+123+(3, contents), June 1928 dated manuscript poem 'To Nathaniel' slipped in (+ slip of paper with medical note 'Cystopurin 3 times a day melted in water before meals' !); internally clean, tight & unmarked, foredge and bottom of text-block uncut. Printed cream card covers generally clean and tight but all edges browning, spines ends and back outer corner chipped, front printed in black and red. Divided into 11 sections each with separate red t.p. (though some have only one poem). Last dated poem is Dec. 1928, earliest from 1906. Clearly U.S. born the author seems to have lived mostly in Egypt (or Europe at least), as did her sister (the Preface is signed from 'Bulkeley, Egypt' - a neighbourhood of Alexandria - and in 1960 she published a book 'East is East'). publisher (or printer?) and date given bottom back cover. The only other copy on Abebooks is given as 1929 with unknown publisher - don't think s/he checked it properly! The ms. poem is clearly by the author, however she had died (14th Jan.1929) before the book was published so can only speculate that it was slipped in by her sister. There is an obituary in the Kansas City Star of 20th Jan. Note: text on some of images appears less than clear - this is a fault with photo - think my mobile camera is not quite up to it - actually perfectly okay.
