La Transición no fue un proceso idílico, sino convulso y plagado de escollos. En 1980 el país se había sumido en una crisis generalizada que le llevó al borde del abismo. La mayor amenaza a la e…stabilidad era el terrorismo. En 1980 hubo 395 atentados, que causaron 132 víctimas mortales y 100 heridos, y 20 secuestros. Fue, en definitiva, el año con mayor nivel de violencia desde la década de los sesenta hasta la masacre yihadista del 11 de marzo de 2004. Las bandas terroristas compartían métodos y rechazo frontal a la Transición, pero respondían a perfiles ideológicos muy distintos: el nacionalista radical, que soñaba con crear nuevos estados-nación; el de extrema izquierda, que buscaba instaurar una dictadura del proletariado; y el ultraderechista o parapolicial, que pretendía revertir la democratización resucitando el franquismo o decía combatir a ETA con sus propias armas. Los planteamientos de Joseph Stalin, en la II Guerra Mundial (1939-1945), tampoco son nada halagüeños cuando llevó a su pueblo a la muerte de veintidós millones de soldados para conseguir la expansión territorial jamás soñada por dirigente ruso alguno. El confl icto que ahora acotamos, el más sangriento de la historia de la humanidad, se repudia por su propia naturaleza autodestructiva, y enlaza con la Gran Guerra de 1914-1918. No nos gusta el culto a los héroes pese a que Thomas Carlyle los sacralizara en el siglo XIX, ni creemos que, como insistiera el general prusiano Helmut Von Moltke, la paz perdurable es un sueño, y ni siquiera un sueño hermoso. As its two predecessors, its main theme was ensembles of supervised and unsupervised algorithms ¿ advanced machinelearning and data mining technique. Unlike a single classification or clustering algorithm, an ensemble is a groupof algorithms, each of which first independently solves the task at hand by assigning a class or cluster label (voting) to instances in a dataset and after that all votes are combined together to produce the final class or cluster membership. As a result, ensembles often outperform best single algorithms in many real-world problems. This book consists of 14 chapters, each of which can be read independently of the others. In addition to two previous SUEMA editions, also published by Springer, many chapters in the current book include pseudo code and/or programming code of the algorithms described in them. This was done in order to facilitate ensemble adoption in practice and to help to both researchers and engineers developing ensemble applications.

As its two predecessors, its main theme was ensembles of supervised and unsupervised algorithms - advanced machinelearning and data mining technique. Unlike a single classification or clustering algorithm, an ensemble is a groupof algorithms, each of which first independently solves the task at hand by assigning a class or cluster label (voting) to instances in a dataset and after that all votes are combined together to produce the final class or cluster membership. As a result, ensembles often outperform best single algorithms in many real-world problems. This book consists of 14 chapters, each of which can be read independently of the others. In addition to two previous SUEMA editions, also published by Springer, many chapters in the current book include pseudo code and/or programming code of the algorithms described in them. This was done in order to facilitate ensemble adoption in practice and to help to both researchers and engineers developing ensemble applications.
