Pink and navy jacket with B&W photographic depiction of the skull of the Australopithecus africanus 'Taung Child', over red cloth with silver lettering to spine. Apparently the 1st British edition of Dart's autobiographical account of his discoveries, and the interesting scientific conclusions he reached. With B&W photographs, line drawings and 2 charts. Complete. Pages have slight foxing and notable tanning. Binding is firm. A few dog-eared corners. Foxing heavier at start and end, and on text block edges. Bookshop sticker to front pastedown; pen inscription to FEP. Block edges tanned and dust-marked. Boards have moderate edge wear, with slight bumping to corners and spine ends.
