Disguise by Donald A. Wollheim, first published in Other Worlds Science Stories (Feb 1953), remains an obscure early work from a major figure in scien…ce fiction publishing. While Wollheim's later impact as an editor was profound, this early pulp story holds only minor collector interest, primarily for completists and historians of the genre's editorial voices. The General Left Us by Robert Moore Williams, a standalone pulp science fiction story from Robert Moore Williams, a mid-century pulp regular best known for his Zanthar series and space operas of the 1940s60s. The General Left Us is representative of his fast-paced, accessible adventure style but is not among his more recognized works. Field of Battle is an obscure pulp-era story by William F. Temple, a respected British science fiction author known for Four-Sided Triangle and thoughtful early SF explorations. Field of Battle is a standalone piece that has not been reprinted or anthologized.

James Oberg was the Associate Editor. James Edward Oberg (born November 7, 1944), is an American space journalist and historian, is an expert on the Russian and Chinese space programs. He had a 22-year career as a space engineer in NASA specializing in orbital rendezvous. Oberg is an author of ten books and more than a thousand articles on space flight. He gave many explanations of UFO phenomena in the press. He is also a consultant in spaceflight operations and safety. Space World magazine ("the news magazine of Astro-Science") was published from May 1960 through the late 1980s. The founding publisher was the prolific writer and comic book developer William Woolfolk, with Otto Binder and Willy Ley on the editorial team. In 1963 it was acquired by Ray Palmer's Palmer Publications and then transferred on Palmer's death to Charles Spanbauer, who continued publishing the magazine in association with the National Space Institute (NSI). The periodical had a tremendous following among space technology enthusiasts, the scientific community, NASA engineers/scientists (who often wrote significant portions of the material), and launch-watchers who were glued to every report of space related events. Authors were practically a who's who of important space scientists of the era - Wernher von Braun, Willy Ley, James Oberg, and many others were regularly posting material to the publication.
