ACCOMPANYING LETTER: This was perhaps Helen Hayes's personal copy as it contains a letter to her on Eugenia Rawls's embossed stationery, containing references to Miss Hayes's teaching, to Miss Rawls's poetry book, to her forthcoming appearance on the Joe Franklin Show (to be followed by another "Tallulah" performance), and to responses to her poetry received from such theatre luminaries as Vincent Price, Katharine Hepburn, Mary Martin, and Portland Hoffa. CONTENTS: Biographies; A Moment Ago; A Certain Light; Touching This Shell; In Twilight Swings; A Christmas Greeting; 80 pages, with dozens of beautiful illustrations and a back-cover tribute from Helen Hayes. CONDITION: an unmarked, uncreased Very Good Plus copy with light shelf-wear and a touch of scuffing on the spine edges. Inscribed by the author to the Tony Award-winning actress Marian Seldes: "for Marian, Eugenia." Seldes starred with Bankhead in the ill-fated Tennesee Williams' play, *The Milk Train Doesn't Stop Here Anymore*, which was Bankhead's final Broadway production. Laid in is a belly band with blurbs about the book from Mary Martin, Helen Hayes. Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., Vincent Price, and Paul Green.
