Despite her success, her income wasn't enough to support her and her father, who she supported. She also wrote poetry, publishing 'Narrative Poems on the female Character', as well as plays, writing 'Charles the First: A Historical Tragedy', and 'Rienzi: A Tragedy'. With an introduction by Anne Thackeray Ritchie, the daughter of the prolific author William Makepeace Thackeray. Anne was also an author, with her novels putting her in high regard of Victorian society. Her novels include 'The Village on the Cliff', 'Old Kensington', and 'Five Old Friends'. With a coloured frontispiece, a further fifteen coloured plates, and numerous in-text illustrations throughout.
