This book is an account of the Battle assault in Chhamb-Jaurian Sector in Dec 1971 where our troops and defences faced a heavy and devastating onslaught from the enemy as a result of a flawed strategy. Further, the book captures soldiering in the North East sector facing the Chinese PLA in 1973 despite the lack of basic infrastructure. And finally it culminates with Lt Col AK Kher's tour in the Siachen Glacier where he was among the first pioneers to set up a Medium Artillery Gun Battery. To deploy heavy medium guns up the hill was an unachievable task and the book captures the difficulties that had to be overcome to accomplish this arduous task beautifully.
