In den WarenkorbCloth. Zustand: Very Good. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Very Good. Two volumes: a presentation copy of E. C. Ratcliff's book to a member of his family, explaining the coronation; the form and order of the service; along with several letters to E. C. Ratcliffe. viii, 79 ; vi, 63 pp. Red cloth in pictorial jacket; red leather in printed dustjacket with all edges gilt (text printed in black and red). Tear to the latter's dustjacket, some marking to rear panel and general toning; splitting to the front joint; clean internally. The Ratcliff book has mild rubbing to its jacket extremities. Small ink inscription 'NHCR dd ECR' to prelims. The letters to E. C. Ratcliffe are from Francis Wormald referring to Egerton MS 3320 which shows Elizabeth I's coronation; letters from Geoffrey Fisher, the Archbishop of Canterbury, who was in charge of the Queen's coronation, asking for Ratcliff's 'expert advice and guidance', and appointing Ratcliff to the Coronation Advisory Committee and letters from the Garter at the College of Arms referring to the Queen's robe - communicating that the Queen feels that the customary purple robe of state is 'rather plain' and could use some embroidery. The tape to the Garter's letter is coming away slightly. Edward Craddock Ratcliff was Professor of Divinity at Cambridge University, Anglican priest and liturgical scholar. 8vo. Presentation Copy.
