From the preface Mangrove formation has got unthinkable ability to mitigate the cyclonic impacts and tidal surges on inland habitats. On such catastrophes huge amount is being spent for relief work whereas if the coastal districts undertake preventive measures by creating a strong green belt of such plants which has got strong fidelity to the saline atmosphere and niches. The green belt would be a protective barrier to the winterland and helps the mangrove niches to build sediments which are highly nutritious to marine biota especially to juvenite fishes in a span of months to attain a safe age under mangrove habitat before migrating to the sea. 320 pp.
