Not sure if this is the original binding but it is certainly contemporary -- brown pigsuede spine and corners with red leatherette over paper boards. Corners are quite worn, some chipping away of the leatherette, spine label and gilt are bright and clear, spine tips worn. Interior no first fly, paper is quite browned, there is an old ownership stamp to the title page and also on the first page of the text, title page has short tear at bottom edge. Plates are quite foxed, some quires are white while others are browned, otherwise clean and fresh. This book was purchased by us in 2007, well before the 2009 theft of the same title in Brazil.
