Extremely rare catalogue of the Mulla Feroze Library of Zoroastrian printed and lithographed books, periodicals, and manuscripts. - Firuz Mulla Bin Kawoos (1758-1830), a Parsi priest of the Kadmi sect and author of t…he epic Persian poem "George Nama" (a history of India from its discovery by the Portuguese and of the English in India to 1819), was respected as a scholar of oriental languages and as a collector of Persian and Arabic manuscripts. On his death his library was gifted to the elders of the Kadmi Zoroastrians, who created the "Mulla Firuz Ketabkhana" collection in Mumbai. (A madrasa bearing his name, for instruction of Zoroastrians in their sacred lore, was founded in 1854.) In 1916 his library was absorbed into the newly-founded K. R. Cama Oriental Institute, Bombay, established to perpetuate the memory of Mr. Kharshedji Rustomji Cama (d. 1909), a renowned oriental scholar, linguist, social reformer and educator.
