Maximilien Quenum (1911-?), a member of the Fon of Dahomey, wrote this important work concerning their history, religion, art, life, etc. Occasional spotting in the text, a very nice copy of the first edition in the publisher's printed stiff wrappers. Umschlag etwas lädiert, Rücken mit Einrissen, ein kleiner Fleck auf der Rückseite, vorderes Broschur-Titelblatt fast abgelöst vom Rücken, aber alles wird zusammengehalten von einm Klarsicht-Umschlag. Innen sind die Tafeln teils etwas stockfleckig, oft auch die diese umgebenden Textseiten. Ansonsten sauber und vollständig. Die sehr seltene Erstausgabe als Hauptbestandteil der Nummern 2 und 3 dieses 'Bulletin du .' . Enthalten ist weiterhin ein 17seitiger Text von A. Basset - "Parlers touaregs du Soudan Niger", ebenfalls mit fotogr. Abb. Es gab dann in späteren Jahren mehrere Neuauflagen dieses wichtigen Werkes zu den Fon.
