Though the copyright date is 1920, this book must be later, as the artist Queen Holden began working around 1928. I believe it is earlier than versions which have a black silhouette of the Blossoms on the cloth covers. This version is in plain green cloth, and is vg, tight and square, though there is a pencilled gift inscr. on the ffep and the pages are turning brown. The dj is good, with noticeable browning on the spine and rear panel; chips at top & bottom esp. spine & corners; and a 2" tear at the edge of the spine bottom. The illustration wraps around to the spine; it is in good shape except where sunned on the spine. There is a frontispiece as well but no indication as to artist; may also be by Holden. She is famous for her paper dolls, the quality of which can be seen in the color dj illustration. 182 pp.

Thick card doll + 4 outfits & 2 hats 7.1" doll (neck crease/lacks cross piece to stand) 2 dresses one holding doll other with shoulder crease + 2 trouser sets one with ball other with creases holding American flag. Most tabs have pencilled M on them. Though both hats are from same set with wisps of hair drawn on the hats the bonnet one does not quite fit. 1 volume. Ephemera.

Some of the cut outs are partially punched out, but still intact. However most of the punch outs are completely intact. All cut outs present. W 938. Queen Holden started her career with Whitman Publishing and from 1929 to 1950, she painted sweet babies, winsome children, families and movie stars. Today, B. Shackman is the authorized publisher of all her works and is reprinting as many of her designs as they can access.
