Perrott, No.169253, his posting vaguely entered as "overseas", hand signed by him and Intelligence Corps Depot Quartermaster Major Glover(?), both with typed dates 29.3.45. Captain Perrott is confirming receipt of a helmet, respirator components, eye shields, ointment, detectors, cape, and cotton, and that he has already received blankets, camp kit (or money allowance in lieu), pistol, cleaning rods, ammunition, and a lanyard. The Intelligence Corps was created in July 1940 to provide trained personnel with language skills to gather intelligence for use by units and formations. Its Commandant reported to the Director of Military Training at the War Office. Its HQ and Depot was at Wentworth Woodhouse in Yorkshire. Training was also done at locations in Oxford, Winchester, Matlock, and Cambridge. The Corps contributed about 40% of Bletchley Park's Army personnel, producing the intelligence codenamed "Ultra".
