Softcover. Zustand: As New. Leichte Kratzer / Abnutzungen / Druckstellen. This collection of essays does not seek to fashion a bespoke 21st-century Albion from the remnants of Britain's various poetic traditions. The poetry considered here, and its criticism too, is by and large critical of the "new imperial suitings" beneath which the old and new networks of power run. The work gathered in these pages knows language and culture to be profoundly complicit across the board in the extension of acts of domination, from the preparation for and execution of war, to the composition of the suicide note, from the overt corrupting of the democratic franchise, to cold calling's interpellation of the human subject as consumer-in-waiting. ". an excellent, timely set of essays ." --Peter Middleton Contributors to this volume include: Thomas Day, Keston Sutherland, Alizon Brunning, Robin Purves, J.H. Prynne, Bruce Stewart, D.S. Marriott, Stephen Thomson, Craig Dworkin, Sophie Read, Sara Crangle, Malcolm Phillips, Tom Jones, Josh Robinson, Sam Ladkin, Jennifer Cooke, Ian Patterson. Robin Purves is a Lecturer in English Literature at the University of Central Lancashire. Sam Ladkin is a researcher at the University of Cambridge.

Softcover. Zustand: Near Fine. Issues One and Two. Slim octavos. 64, 68pp. Illustrated. Stapled pictorial wrappers. A bit of staining on the front cover of Issue One else about fine. Laid in to Issue Two is a TNS from coeditor Robin Purves to poet Clark Coolidge, who has contributed the poem "Alter Bridges (for Tom Raworth)" and a selection from *Berlin Book*, both totaling six pages. Purves sends her thanks along with the book, noting: "Being the only relatively cheap and available source of your work in Scotland makes Peter and I feel inordinately pleased with ourselves." (Issue Two is a bit more professionally produced, with glossy covers, and Purves also writes: "We've gone a bit slick on you, lost some of that samizdatty appeal, but this issue cost £25 less than the first one to produce.") In Issue One, the editors note that they are publishing this literary journal to "publish the work of Scottish writers beside those experimental-and/or modern-ists (from Britain, the US or wherever) who seldom seem to reach print here." A dozen serial entries in *OCLC*, seven in the U.S.
