In-4° antico, pp. 544 nn., legatura coeva piena pelle marrone marmorizzata con dorso liscio adorno di titolo in oro su tassello rosso, filetti e fiorellini in oro. Tagli marmorizzati, unghie decorate in oro. Sguardie marmorizzate policrome. Conservata la brossura originale azzurra a stampa. 136 ritratti incisi f.t. (su 144 di cui l'opera doveva comporsi). Manca ab origine, come in tutti gli esemplari riscontrati, un frontespizio a stampa. Ogni biografia di un personaggio celebre della storia è inquadrata entro bordure plurime incise ed è preceduta dal ritratto del biografato. Bell'esemplare, malgrado la suddetta lacuna iconografica. Edizione originale, apparsa in complessive 18 livraisons fra il 1787 e il 1789.
