In den WarenkorbBroadside single sheet, (495mm.) Printed letterpress within a handsome bold frame of printers' ornaments, on laid paper with deckle edge. Very slightly soiled and creased at the margins. A stunning piece of typography. The contents however are open to dispute as the alleged letter offers a contemporary description of the person and character of Jesus Christ, its authenticity was being questioned by the mid-seventeenth century. There were numerous printings, in Latin and English, in broadsides and otherwise from the fifteenth century onwards. This truly handsome typographic specimen probably came from the press of Thomas Bensley and our dating is slightly subjective as John Eedes was only made free of the Stationers' Company in 1824, a few years before Bensley died.
