In den WarenkorbFirst printing. (80) pp., 4 x 8.5 inches. Perfect-bound in printed card covers. Illustrated throughout with black-and-white reproductions of pages from listed publications. Laid in is an errata sheet folded in thirds, dated 1 May 1978, with price changes, a list of titles that have gone out of print, and several other correction…s. Catalogue in fine condition; errata sheet very good, with mild creasing on one edge and slight toning along folds. The second catalogue from this premier bookstore and distributor, listing well over nine hundred books, records, and magazines by artists (the first catalogue, issued in December 1976, had just half that many). The illustrations feature pages (or in a few cases covers) from publications by Robert Armstrong, Alice Aycock, Bernd and Hilla Becher, Mary Bondarowicz, Stanley Brouwn, Victor Burgin, Don Celender, Constance De Jong, Peter Downsbrough, Jackie Ferrara, Jon Gibson, George Griffin, Douglas Heubler, Ralph Humphrey, Ellen Lanyon, Kasimir Malevich, Richard Nonas, Kingsley Parker, David Shapiro and Lucio Pozzi, Edda Renouf, Marcia Resnick, Martha Rosler, Fred Sandback, Tony Shafrazi, Jim Snitzer, Eve Sonneman, Michelle Stuart, Richard Tuttle, Meredith Monk, Michael Snow, and Lawrence Weiner. Then as now, Printed Matter brings together under one umbrella artists, writers, and publishers of enormously wide-ranging practices. A valuable historical reference, and fascinating document.
